Are walk-in interviews for corporate jobs in the GTA considered unprofessional?

Hi everyone,

I hope this question isn’t out of line, but I’m curious about the viability of walk-in interviews for corporate positions in the Greater Toronto Area. Do hiring managers and employers actually view candidates who take this approach as credible?

Honestly, I’m feeling frustrated with being ghosted and running into fake job postings. I’ve even considered going door-to-door to present myself and my resume directly to potential employers. Is this seen as unprofessional or unethical in the corporate world?

I’m particularly interested in IT roles, like desktop support or systems administration. Having previously worked as a DevOps Engineer, I feel the competition is fierce right now. Starting with something more basic seems like a practical way to get my foot in the door while I work my way up—especially since I need to keep the bills paid! What are your thoughts on this approach?

Thanks
