Hey everyone!
I’m reaching out to gather insights about pursuing a career in Air Traffic Control (ATC) in Canada. I recently learned that Nav Canada has paused their application process, which has me wondering about the overall difficulty of getting into this field.
A bit of background: I initially aimed to become a pilot, but due to some vision issues, I’ve pivoted towards engineering, with only two semesters left. However, I’m feeling uncertain about diving into that industry after graduation. The ATC opportunity feels like a perfect fit for my passion for aviation without the need for extensive additional schooling.
So, I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with the ATC application process. How challenging is it to get accepted into the program? And what can I expect during the training phase if I do get in?
Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to your experiences and advice!
