Considering a career change in your 30s? Any advice for learning new skills in the Okanagan?

Hi everyone!

I’m thinking about making a career change and wanted to get some advice from people who might have been in a similar spot. If you were between 35–40 and looking to expand your skillset, what kinds of courses or new career paths would you consider?

The idea is to stay in the Okanagan and pursue something that offers stable, secure work with decent pay. I’m curious about what’s practical here locally—whether it’s in trades, tech, healthcare, or something completely different.

Have you personally taken a course or switched careers later in life? How did you decide what was worth your time and investment? I’d love to hear real-life experiences, recommendations, or even ideas you think someone in my situation should explore.

Thanks
